I’m Jose Alfonso Villalobos and I want to be your next Elgin Township Trustee.
Jose Alfonso Villalobos is a lifelong Elgin resident who has served 4 years in the Marine Corps. He graduated from Northern Illinois University, majoring in Journalism and minoring in Political Science. Currently, he works for People’s Gas, helping provide energy for people’s homes in Chicago. He started Kane County for Bernie Sanders, motivating regular people to have a say in government. His efforts resulted in becoming a Bernie Sanders delegate for the 8th Congressional District and traveling to Philadelphia for the Democratic National Convention.

The Issues
The two main issues I will focus on are transparency and engagement. By having the Elgin Township meetings broadcasted and archived over the internet, we can finally show how this part of government works. I plan to engage and listen to people who belong to the Elgin Township to bring forward the issues they care about most at monthly meetings. There should also be a Youth Outreach Committee, so young people can have a hand in understanding and guiding their local government.
